oftravels//airplanes

Hye, my name is Mirza, born 1993, congenitally enthusiastic towards commercial aviation and travel. I'm from a f"cked up third world country called Malaysia and I love travelling and being on airplanes. My father is a pilot so I get to travel for free. Talk about perks, huh. My long time ambition is to pilot for Malaysia Airlines. But currently, i am pursuing a degree in Business Management, bound for the States in 2012. I would also like to be one of MH's team member to reconstruct the airline's Business Model from scratch (hopefully in the future). I love Malaysia Airlines, but i also cannot find a reason to not love Tony Fernandes. You might also find the movement of my tumblr a bit slow, partly because i am busy with my studies, thus minimizing my chance of travelling. Cheers!

I completely agree; I think its horrific to find men who believe that they’re ‘servants of God’ yet have the audacity to rape, burn, and stone women.
There is nothing alright with raping a woman, blaming her for losing her virginity, and then forcing her to marry her rapist. There is nothing in the Quran that promotes this crude behavior; there is nothing in Islam that promotes this deviant behavior.
There is nothing right with burning a woman’s face, mutilating her private areas, or forcing her to cover her entire body from head to toe. No where in the Quranic text will someone find misogyny and patriarchy enforced or even observed in Quran. As an American Muslim woman, I honestly don’t understand how people justify these sort of things (and honestly, I fear listening to their wretched justifications).
Contrary to popular belief, stoning is not permitted in Islam. These are not laws that are applicable to to this time period; stoning was an Arab ritual (during Muhammad’s time) in which men and women who were find to be accused of having sex outside of wedlock. Ritualistic cultural norms are not Islam; please remember that.
But there are two problems to this: one, people who claim to be Muslim are the ones propagating these crude and pedophilia actions, and two, those whom believe that these actions are associated or promoted by the Islamic faith. Both are moronic individuals who need to not only educate themselves, but deplete the ego, ignorance, and arrogance that resides in their heart.
Oh, and it’s not okay to burn any type of book (especially if people consider it holy). And it’s also not okay to burn women (I thought this was obvious).
But people burn Quran because they’re angry that men are burning women and so men burn women to prove that burning is not to be done to Quran but can be done if they do it. No. Just. Stop.
There is no civil justification for either action, so please don’t compare the two. This is just purely ignorant campaigning and obviously a campaign that has little to no knowledge of the deep rooted problem that exists on both secular and religious spectrums.

Assalamualaikum, can you cite any ayat or surah in the Quran that says stoning isn’t permitted in Islam today? ‘Stoning was an Arab ritual.’ Really?
